Some traders take an extended break from trading during the holidays to spend time with family and friends. They also take time off to study and develop new trading strategies for the new year.

When a market does not have liquidity, it is difficult, at best, to get in and out of positions profitably. That’s why traders simply want to take a break from trading during the holiday season.
